I had mentioned to Tiffiny I was going to a glassblowing class, and I did!
Great teacher, great friends there.
Hated it.
See, it’s August in the PNW and not my time to shine. I had sweat dripping off my nose, fuzzy hair everywhere and a blowtorch.
Who gave me a *blowtorch? Seems…unwise.
*Note: Sorry, glassblowing people; it may not be called a blowtorch, but that’s what I’m calling it.
A couple of days earlier, I had sent Tiffiny my first two chapters (again) and my first reworked chapter that originally had POV issues.
Her email back to me started: “How did the glassblowing go? Sounds fun.”
Sure, sure, fun. Get to the point, lady!
“I’m attaching your first two chapters as well as the new chapter 7.”
I avoided looking for a long time. Which, for me, was about 3 hours.
“I think your opening chapters are ready to go! I just adjusted a couple commas while I was reading them.”
I held my breath.
“I love the new chapter 7. It reads very smoothly. I made notes at the very end of the chapter with some line-editing suggestions.”
ERMEGHERD!!!!
You can’t take it back now, Tiffiny; it’s in writing.
